What's new on Toripedia

(May 19, 2011) Help Wanted

Over the last two years I've fiddled around this Wikia, which was abandoned by a previous owner, and now I am trying to nurture it's growth slowly but surely until Tori finally finds her place in the Wikia universe. In order to do this though, we need contributers.

Why should we have a Tori wikia when we have websites like yessaid/hereinmyhead?

Each site offers what I like to refer to as it's "strengths." But they all pretty much provide the same information anywhere. A site like yessaid provides plenty of quotes and album/single information, which you would not find in as great detail at hereinmyhead, but hereinmyhead makes up for that with their media section (Currently yessaid's is down). Where hereinmyhead lacks recent Tori news, that's where Undented makes up for that.

But what about that information being all in one place? That's what the community at Wikia is for, it's created by the fans, for the fans, to have access to all that information in one place. I couldn't tell you the numbers of times I wanted a piece of information, whether it was a quote about a song or about an album or a certain interview, I would have to run all over the internet just to find it, and it takes up a lot of time. With Wikia, however, you can find that information all in one place.

How do I help?

Simple, really. You can help by contributing information to articles, creating articles, creating sections dedicated to all things Tori (pianos, make-up, influences, etc...) and more. We can make this place much like Wikipedia, except solely dedicated to miss Tori Amos. In Wikipedia, you cannot edit information for songs like Leather or Amber Waves, because they were never released as singles and therefore never actually commercially popular, but here you can put all the information on those songs in one place where the fans can have access to and edit. It's a nice idea, but we need you to help contribute to Toripedia, and maybe in a few years the site will be full of information that's been lost or scattered over the internet in no time.
