"Thoughts" is a B-side from Tori Amos's 1992 debut solo album Little Earthquakes.

Background Edit

"Thoughts" was spontaneously written and recorded in one take during the third phase of creating Little Earthquakes, which took place in London, England.[1] Tori had unsuccessfully attempted to record a take of "Girl" and, according to her, "started this thing coming from nowhere singing nonsense into the mic. When I finished, Eric said, ‘It’s a take.’ I said, ‘What?’ – he had left the machine running.”"'[2]

The song was released as a B-side to "Me and a Gun" in October 1991 and "Silent All These Years" in November 1991 in Germany and the United Kingdom.[3][4]

Live performances Edit

"Thoughts" was first performed live during the 1998 Plugged Tour and has not been played live since.[5]
