"Distant Storm" is a song performed by Tori Amos under the name Tess Makes Good and included in the 1990 film China O'Brien.
Background
"Distant Storm" is used in the first few minutes of the film. Although Amos sang the song, she wrote a contract stating that "Distant Storm" could not be credited to Tori Amos; Amos' previous record Y Kant Tori Read had "bombed" and she knew that "I didn’t want to do anything that would come and haunt me and I needed the money.” As a result, the song was listed as performed by Tess Makes Good with Ellen Amos on "additional vocals".
