Reception[]
"'97 Bonnie & Clyde" received mainly positive reviews from music critics. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic argued that the song was one of the few on the album "that really feels" performed from a female perspective, describing the track as "about as chilling as the original, but without the context". [1]
Live performances[]
"'97 Bonnie & Clyde" was first performed live during the 2001 Strange Little Tour and has not been played on any of Amos' tours since.[2] Each concert on the 2001 tour began with Amos singing the song from behind a screen.
